According to a note on its website, the technology retailer b8ta closed its last shop in the U.S. February 18.
The note on its website, in part, reads, “On February 18, 2022, b8ta closed its doors in the United States for the last time. It was an amazing 7 years … we hosted millions of shoppers, helped thousands of brands launch their products, and inspired people all over the globe about technology and the future. Thanks for everything.”
Earlier in February, according to The San Francisco Times, the company indefinitely closed its Hayes Valley, San Francisco, store after a manager was threatened at gunpoint during a robbery. A week prior to that announcement, the retailer had decided to close its Union Square store in San Francisco after three muggings had occurred there.
For now, the brand’s international businesses in the U.A.E. and Japan are still operational.
