Baccarat Names New Managing Director

The board of directors of Baccarat, the French luxury crystal glassware company, has named Daniela Riccardi managing director, effective June 3, 2013. Riccardi will replace Markus Lampe, who is “pursuing another opportunity.”

Riccardi, 53, was most recently ceo of Diesel, the Italian denim company. She also spent 25 years at Procter & Gamble, where she held various management positions, including vp for Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela; vp and general manager for Eastern Europe and Russia; and president of Procter & Gamble in China.

Baccarat chairman Barry Sternlicht said Riccardi’s international experience will be a key as “the company accelerates its growth, particularly internationally.”

In the United States, that brand expansion will include a new 2800-square-foot flagship on Madison Avenue in New York, slated to open in June; and a Baccarat Hotel & Residences in New York, due to open in 2014.

Baccarat is majority owned by Group du Louvre (Nanterre, France), a subsidiary of Starwood Capital Group (Greenwich, Conn.).
