Barnes & Noble to Close 10 Stores

Barnes & Noble (New York) announced that it plans to close 10 stores during its 2016 fiscal year, reports CBS News. The store locations slated to be closed have not yet been announced.

Originally, the chain had announced that it planned to close 13 stores this year, but has since revised the number due to increased store traffic. Some of the increased traffic can be traced to promotions such as selling books that are signed by authors.

One analyst, John Tinker, suggests that the company’s predicted performance is still conservative and it may need to only close about seven stores this year.
