Bebe Closing 2b Stores

Bebe Stores Inc. (New York) is shuttering all of the stores in its value-oriented 2b spin-off chain, which has consisently lost money in recent years, according to Wall Street Journal MarketWatch. The company says it will focus on making its namesake Bebe stores more profitable. Bebe also announced that it will reduce of its non-store staff by about 9 percent. Bebe Stores ceo Steve Birkhold resigned earlier this month, shortly after the company posted a fiscal third quarter net sales drop of 17 percent. The company, under the direction of interim ceo Jim Wiggett is still looking for a permanent chief executive.
