Beefed Wellington

The first 100 retailers have signed on as tenants at Wellington Green Retailers in Wellington, Fla., due to open October 5. The 1.3 million-square-foot shopping center is the centerpiece of a new 470-acre master-planned, mixed use development in western Palm Beach County.

The five two-level department stores serving as anchors of the mall will include Burdines, Dillard's, Lord & Taylor, JCPenney and Nordstrom (opening in 2003). Among the other tenants will be Ann Taylor, Cache, Bisou Bisou, bebe, Forever XXI, Talbots, abercrombie, Abercrombie & Fitch, Bath & Body Works, Aveda, Casual Corner/Petite Sophisticate/August Max Woman, Charlotte Russe, Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Johnston & Murphy, RadioShack and Wilson's Leathers. The two-level enclosed mall, located at the southwest corner of Forest Hill Boulevard and US 441/SR 7, will feature up to 170 specialty shops andrestaurants.

Taubman Centers (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.), the developer of Wellington Green, also has two other centers under construction, slated for 2001 openings: International Plaza (Tampa, Fla.) and The Shops at Willow Bend (Plano, Texas). The Mall at Millenia (Orlando, Florida) will open in 2002.
