Bernard Spitz Dies at 83

Bernard Spitz, retired president of Henry Hanger Co. (New York), died Sunday in Los Angeles. He was 83.

Spitz's father, Henry Spitz, began the company in 1929, and Bernard joined it six years later as a salesman. He and his brother, Herbert, took over the company when the founder died in 1965.

The cause of death was cancer. Spitz is survived by son Henry, president of the company; daughters Nancy Battan and Astrid Metsos, both vp's; Janet Leavitt and Norma Flaten.
