Best Buy Loses Head of Digital Business

Best Buy (Richfield, Minn.) lost the head of its digital business after less than a year. Stephen Gillet has left the electronics retailer to become the chief operating officer of Symantec Corp., a data protection software company.

Hired March 2012, Gillet was responsible for improving Best Buy’s digital strategy and marketing, multi-channel capabilities, business development and entertainment offerings. At Symantec Corp., his duties will include overseeing marketing and communications, among others.

Gillet is formerly the chief information officer for Starbucks Corp. and Corbis, and also previously worked for Sun Microsystems, CNET Networks and Yahoo Inc.
