Bon-Ton Posts 6th Year of Losses

Bon-Ton Stores (York, Pa.) announced that the company posted a $63.4 million loss in 2016. This was the sixth consecutive year that the company was unprofitable. In 2015, the company posted a loss of $57.1 million, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

To recover and buoy business, the company outlined a number of initiatives it is plans to take. For instance, it is going to close four to six stores this year and will evaluate closing other locations as leases expire. The company is also going to try expanding some of its most popular departments as a way to attract more customers to stores.
