Bonnie Young to Leave Donna Karan

Bonnie Young has left her position as senior creative director for the Donna Karan Collection at Donna Karan Intl. Inc. (New York) to focus exclusively on her own children’s wear label.

Launched last year, the line has already been picked up by retailers around the world, including Barneys New York, Harvey Nichols, Club 21 in Singapore and Mercury in Moscow. Young is also planning her first freestanding store, in Aspen, Colo., in December.

Young told Women’s Wear Daily that she had been mulling the move for months, and made the decision based on the speedy growth of the label. “It is going so well that I can’t keep track of everything,” she said.
