Bouncing bebe

bebe stores inc. (Brisbane, Calif.) has opened a new Neda by bebe accessories concept boutique in the recently opened Westfield San Francisco Centre, a re-development of the historic Emporium building on Market Street.

The original building, designed by San Francisco architect Albert Pissis, sustained significant damage in the 1906 earthquake and fire. The beaux-arts façade survived and the famed dome was rebuilt in 1908. These two elements, in addition to decorative interior details, have been carefully preserved and set the upscale tone for the new retail center.

The design for the Neda by bebe boutique, by Eight Inc. (New York, San Francisco and Honolulu) was inspired by what the designers called “the ever-evolving landscape of femininity—where confidence is underscored by a glamorous and sophisticated irresistibility.” It includes tufted custom leather sofas and contemporary lounge chairs fashioned into salon-like areas. Mirrored fixtures provide a backdrop and full-dimensional view of the product they display. And highly reflective materials—lacquer, mirrors, polished stainless and black granite tile—soften the linear geometry of the space. “These modern yet classic elements contribute to the sophisticated feminine environment,” said the designers.
