Brookstone

Brookstone Inc. (Merrimack, N.H.) has announced flat same-store sales for the nine-week period ended Jan. 1, 2005. Total sales increased 8.2 percent.

“While many of our new product offerings performed well during this period, our overall same store sales this holiday were below expectations,” said chairman, president and ceo Michael Anthony. “The strong performance of these new products was offset by below plan performance of the massage and audio categories in particular. It is also important to note that we maintained our product margins during this challenging holiday season.”

Year-to-date, same store sales are up 6.6 percent and sales have increased 15.1 percent.
