Brookstone Names New President and CEO

Specialty retailer Brookstone (Merrimack, N.H.) has appointed Stephen Bebis as its president and ceo, effective immediately. Bebis founded sports retailer Golf Town 14 years ago, and served as its president and ceo until recently; Golf Town now has 64 locations across Canada and in Boston.

Jackson Tai, chair of the company’s board of directors, said, “We were impressed by Stephen's track record as an entrepreneur, his hands-on experience as a manager and mentor at the highest levels in the retail industry, and his ability to drive growth and achieve market leadership.” Tai served as the company’s interim president and ceo during the search.

Bebis began his career with Sears Holdings Corp. (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) and later worked with Grossman’s Lumber Chain (Boston), The Home Depot (Atlanta) and others.
