Cabela’s to Expand in Michigan, Alaska

Cabela’s Inc. (Sidney, Neb) has announced plans open stores in Saginaw, Mich., and Anchorage, Alaska. A 43,000-square-foot store in Saginaw, set to open in the spring 2013, will be the company’s third location in Michigan; the Anchorage location is the outdoor outfitter’s first in Alaska, and will open in 2014.

Tommy Millner, ceo of Cabela’s, says, “Cabela’s has had great customers in Alaska, essentially since the company started more than 50 years ago. We’ve lost count of how many times Alaskans have told us they rely on Cabela’s, not only for their outdoor recreation, but for their everyday living. For years, we’ve wanted to build a store there for our loyal customers.”

Currently, the company operates 37 stores across the U.S. and Canada.
