Caribou Coffee Gets New Owner

Caribou Coffee Co., the second-largest company-owned premium coffeehouse operator in the U.S., has entered into a merger agreement with holding company Joh. A. Benckiser Group (New York, JAB). As part of the deal an affiliate of JAB will acquire Caribou for approximately $340 million, QSR magazine reports.

Minneapolis-based Caribou will continue to operate as an independent company with its own brand, management team and growth strategy, according to QSR.
