Chanel Names Unilever Exec as CEO

French luxury brand Chanel (Paris) has appointed Leena Nair as its new CEO, reports Reuters. Nair, who most recently served as Chief Human Resources Officer at consumer goods brand Unilever, will be based in London.

Nair succeeds Maureen Chiquet, who served as CEO of Chanel for nine years and left in 2016. The position has been vacant since then. Alain Wertheimer, who owns the fashion brand with his brother Gerard, moves to the role of global executive chairman.
