Chic, Yes, But Certainly Not Cheap

H&M Hennes & Mauritz AB (Stockholm) will transform New York’s Central Park into a 15,000-square-foot, four-story complex of tents to celebrate its fall 2005 men’s and women’s collections.

The event, tonight at 9 p.m., is said to be the largest fashion show ever in New York. The invited 800 guests will arrive through a 16-foot curtain of orchids. The show will feature 150 models, intersecting runways and surrounding video screens, making for three shows in one.

Grammy winner Kanye West will perform, along with international musicians pianist John Legend and hip hop violinist Miri Ben-Ari. H&M head designer Margareta van den Bosch will also participate.
