Dominick's Finer Foods (Oak Brook, Ill.) is introducing a new concept Lifestyle Store in downtown Chicago, which it says “promises to reinvent the food shopping experience for the downtown's growing residential population, while offering competitive food alternatives for day- time business customers.”
Among the Lifestyle Store features are: a larger organic food section; a Scratch Bakery; a floral department including vase-ready bouquets, flowers and accessories and personalized service; a pre-cooked foods and soup section; gourmet cheeses; an olive bar; an expanded wine section; a Starbucks; a full-service meat counter, including an exclusive Rancher's Reserve selection of beef that offers a money-back guarantee on tenderness; a licensed pharmacist; Chase Bank in-store services, including ATMs; and a variety of customer appreciation features like Dominick's Dozens (e.g., 14 items in a dozen bouquet of roses or a dozen donuts).
“Our new Lifestyle Store, with its innovative design and broader selection of natural, organic and wholesome foods, reflects the more diverse lifestyle choices that customers have told us they want,” said company president Don Keprta.
The store, on East Grand Avenue, is Dominick's fourth downtown store.
Dominick's is a division of Safeway Inc. (Pleasanton, Calif.), operating 99 stores throughout the Chicagoland area.
