Italian baby products brand Chicco (San Severo, Italy) opened its first flagship store in Delhi’s Select Citywalk mall. The brand plans to add eight more stores within the next year, in locations including Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Hyderabad.

“All eight stores would be master franchisee driven,” says Michele Catelli, chairman & MD, Artsana Group, which owns brand Chicco. “To make the brand available across India, we are building a large distribution network in a year’s time.”

The brand, which sells a range of baby products, from clothing to beauty care items, is also considering making its products available through department and baby products stores as well as shop-in-shops across India. “We are quite bullish about the Indian market and want to double our business every three years,’ says Catelli.
