City Chic Opens Stores in California

City Chic, an Australia-based plus-size retailer, opened six stores in California this month, in Culver City, Brea, Tyler, Northridge, Mission Valley and Glendale. This is the brand’s first plunge into the U.S. market, which hasn’t been particularly warm to Australian retailers, according to Women’s Wear Daily.

City Chic operates 100 stores in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, and is part of the Specialty Fashion Group, which operates 1000 stores across its portfolio.

City Chic, which offers everything from jeans and swimsuits to cocktail and special occasion apparel, is also sold at 50 Nordstrom doors in the plus-size Encore department and on Nordstrom.com.
