Colkitt & Co Hires Jessica Gonzales Peat as Architectural Project Manager
San Diego, California—April 25, 2013—Colkitt & Co has hired Jessica Gonzales Peat as project manager for the Access Youth Academy (AYA) project in the firm’s Southern California office.
As a seasoned professional with 10 years of experience in architectural project management, Gonzales Peat joined the team beginning in early April to work on AYA, a non-profit organization that inspires underprivileged youth to excel through a program combining academics, the sport of squash, and community service. In this newly created project manager role, Gonzales Peat will oversee the carrying out of AYA’s four-year long dream of creating a new home for AYA at Hoover High School.
“We are very fortunate to be working full-time with Jessica,” said Nathan Colkitt, principal and CEO of Colkitt & Co. “She has dedicated her time primarily to non-profits such as Invictus San Diego and Access Youth Academy. She has also been volunteering her time to us for the last year on all of our non-profit work.”
Prior to officially joining Colkitt & Co, Gonzales Peat spent almost nine years with the well-respected, San Diego-based firm, Davy Architecture. Her dedication to educational and non-profit organizations, as well as expertise in the architecture industry made her a fitting candidate for this new position at Colkitt & Co.
She most recently completed the Monarch School project, and is the president of the Affordable Housing Group. She is also involved as the president of the board for The Association for Community Housing Solutions (TACHS), which is a permanent supportive housing developer for persons with special needs. Gonzales Peat attended the NewSchool of Architecture + Design in California, where she received a Bachelor of Architecture.
