Converse to open new Manhattan store

Converse sneaker brand will soon open a new Manhattan location at 560 Broadway in a store formerly occupied by Ann Taylor, which is shrinking its store fleet due to slow sales. The sneaker brand plans to have its only Manhattan store open by the holidays.

“This is a terrific location with high foot traffic and distinctive brands,” said Joanne Podell, the Cushman & Wakefield Inc. broker who, along with colleague Matthew Seigel, represented Ann Taylor and Converse.

Converse will have the option to renew its lease once the sublease ends after 2015.
