Cutco Considers Retail Expansion

Knife manufacturer Cutco Corp. (Olean, N.Y.) has announced plans to open more retail stores in 2015.

Since 2013, the company has opened retail locations in Minneapolis, Detroit, Atlanta, and Austin, Texas. In Atlanta, Cutco partnered with Oreck Corp., known for its vacuum cleaners, to share half the space and costs. Ceo and chair James Stitt said the same model could be applied to future Cutco Kitchen locations once the Atlanta partnership has been evaluated, according to Buffalo Business First.

“We're probably looking at opening a couple more stores in the U.S. this year, and this looks like a positive way to go at this,” Stitt said.

Cutco also operates stores in Indianapolis, St. Louis, Erie, Pa., and Lansing, Mich.
