CVS Increases Specialized Care

CVS Corp.'s ProCare division (Woonsocket, R.I.) plans to open almost two dozen new locations by year's end, for a total fleet of 50.

The specialized drug stores serve those with heavy medication needs – people with HIV and Cancer, for example. In addition to huge prescription drug inventories for the body, the stores are mindful of soul – they are designed with soothing colors.

Reportedly, specialized prescription drugs comprise a $14 billion market. This is expected to increase as baby boomers age.
