Darrel F. Loyd Announces the Release of The doG House of Cards, a Memoir

San Francisco, Calif., April 8, 2018 ILDworld and Darrel F. Loyd are proud to offer the debut work from Darrel Loyd, The doG House of Cards, now available in major online bookstores everywhere.

The doG House of Cards is a captivating memoir with a spiritual edge that depicts a magical sequence of events that take place over half a century, ultimately leading the protagonist to explore the greater meaning of his existence. The book is based on fact and represents a series of incidents that enlightened the author to a spiritual awakening. It’s not about religion; it’s about hope and understanding that manifested into a love story.

“A quick read, clever and engaging story that entertains, sometimes horrifies and yet delights the reader”, said Karen Lee Jonas, a delighted reader. “The author takes the reader on a most intimate journey of love, heartbreak, disappointment and ultimately finds the power, courage and strength both inside and from above to get back on track. An eye opener painted in gritty detail into an American subculture not everyone gets to experience – raw, sometimes frightening – a story of one man’s struggle in a world full of hustlers and thieves.”

“This book is an excellent read and it was hard to put it down,” said Rick Avila, another delighted reader. “Beautifully written, it’s a story of recollections and insights that depict one man’s life and spiritual journey to find himself and purpose in his existence. Darrel, the protagonist, is a shy, kind, and sensitive man who is simply looking for love and his version of the American dream.”

This book belongs on the shelf of anyone who has ever doubted themselves, the universe or however we label the “eternal life source and is available from major online retailers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords.

About Darrel F. Loyd

Darrel F. Loyd is a first-time author. Born in Los Angeles County, his parents moved to Chicago, Illinois when he was still a baby. He grew up to become a shy gay man and devoted his time and energies to advance his professional career in visual design, while seeking someone to love. Around that time, the AIDS epidemic ravaged the gay community, which made him withdraw from those who would have judged him for his sexual preference. This caused him to revel in hedonism and reckless behavior, self-medicating to subdue his fears of dying a horrible death. During his years of recreational drug use and eventual isolation, he lost his way. His dream of finding a loving man and having a family of his own became a living nightmare, until one day when he had an epiphany—he came to realize that a life without “something” to give him hope, understanding, and love, was a life that made very little sense. At last, he was finally able to embrace the world and all its possibilities.
