Dollar General Announces Expansion in 2011

Goodlettsville, Tenn.-based Dollar General Corp. plans to open 625 new stores and hire more than 6000 workers in 2011. The store openings will include locations in 35 states where it currently operates, as well as its debut into Connecticut, Nevada and New Hampshire.

The discount-store retailer, which operates 9200 stores, also plans to remodel or relocate 550 stores.
