Dunkin' Away

A consortium of global private equity firms — consisting of Bain Capital Partners LLC, The Carlyle Group and Thomas H. Lee Partners LP — has completed the $2.425 billion cash acquisition of Dunkin' Brands Inc. (Canton, Mass.), franchiser of more than 12,000 Dunkin' Donuts, Baskin-Robbins and Togo's shops around the world.

The previous owner, Pernod Ricard SA (Paris), had reached an agreement to sell the snack chain in December 2005.

Jon Luther, currently ceo of Dunkin' Brands, has been appointed chairman of the newly formed board of directors.
