Eastern Mountain Sports Adding Store

Outdoor retailer Eastern Mountain Sports (Peterborough, N.H.) will open the doors to a new location in Avon, Conn., next week. The store replaces a nine-year-old location in Simsbury, Conn., and at 14,400 square-foot store, is nearly double the size of the former location.

The store will feature an expanded boat department, climbing gear test area and full-service bike shop, as well as outdoor apparel and gear for backpacking, camping, climbing and hiking.

“For 22 years, our staff of experienced athletes in the Hartford market has been preparing our customers for all kinds of outdoor adventures,” says ceo Will Manzer. “With more products to choose from and an upgraded shopping experience, we look forward to exceeding the expectations of every outdoor enthusiast who walks through the door of our new Avon store.”

Founded in 1967, Eastern Mountain Sports operates 64 retail stores in 12 states.
