Eckerd's New Master Builder

Eckerd Corp. (Clearwater, Fla.) has announced the promotion of Dean Stadtlander to vp of construction, responsible for all new store construction and remodel activity. That will include standard building guide plans, architectural reviews, building and construction standards and negotiating national accounts for building products and materials. Stadtlander, who joined the drugstore retailer in 1988 as a construction project manager, will continue to report to Tom Nash, senior vp of real estate.

Eckerd Corp. is a wholly owned subsidiary of JCPenney Co. and is one of America's largest retail drug chains, with 2,600 drug stores in 20 states, 1,300 Eckerd Express one-hour photo labs in 18 states and three pharmacy mail service facilities in three states. Eckerd's 1999 revenue was $12.4 billion.
