Elder-Beerman To Close Store in Evansville

Elder-Beerman Stores (Dayton, Ohio) has announced plans to close its Washington Square Mall store in Evansville, Ind. The retailer said the lease on the store had expired and renewing it was rejected because the mall is on a “downward slide.” Elder-Beerman plans to open a new concept-store in Jasper, Ind., in November.
