Event Renames itself Digital Signage Expo

Digital Retailing Expo, the annual trade show and conference showcasing digital signage and interactive technologies, has changed its name to Digital Signage Expo (DSE). ExpoNation LLC (Atlanta), producer of the event, will also debut the Interactive Technology Expo (ITE), which will be presented as a co-located show.

“We’ve changed the name and given ITE its own identity to better reflect the growth and acceptance across industry categories,” said ExpoNation executive vp Chris Gibbs. “Attendees now get two shows for the price of one – and the upside for both shows, irrespective of the other, is enormous.”

The event, May 16-17, 2007, will also return to the Navy Pier Exhibition Center in downtown Chicago, with the Hyatt Regency Chicago as its headquarters hotel. The trade show schedule has also been expanded, starting at 10 a.m. each day.

ITE will showcase innovations in customer-facing interactive technologies, such as wayfinding, RFID, small and large touch screen technology, self service/kiosk technology and artificial intelligence interactive digital sign systems.

DSE will also have an expanded conference, says Gibbs, “to help educate companies who wish to remain competitive by integrating the newest technologies into their business environments.” The conference will include 20 sessions on results assessment, technology, strategy and content issues, including case study application examples and Q&A panels.

The conference program consists of four concurrent tracks over two days, or a total of 20 sessions. (For the full schedule, go to the VM+SD web site, www.vmsd.com.)
