Pamela Wallack, formerly head of the Gap Global Creative Center for Gap Inc. (San Francisco), has been named ceo of David’s Bridal Inc. (Conshohocken, Pa.), where she will be reunited with David’s Bridal chairman Paul Pressler.
Pressler, who is also a partner at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, the London-based private investment firm that acquired David’s Bridal in October 2012, was president and ceo of Gap from 2002-2007.
“Pam, whom I know from my days at the Gap and before that at Disney,” said Pressler, “brings extraordinary strategic, branding and merchandizing capabilities that will complement our talented leadership team as we work to increase our sophistication and effectiveness in serving our customers at a critical juncture in their lives.”
At Gap since 2005, Wallack was most recently responsible for global design, marketing and production and accountable for $6 billion in annual sales. She had also been president of Gap Adult, Body and Accessories and of Gap Kids and Baby.
Before Gap, Wallack was responsible for product development, production and merchandising for the Babies“R”Us/ Toys“R”Us juvenile and apparel lines at Toys “R” Us and also worked for Coach Inc., The Disney Store and Laura Ashley.
At David’s Bridal, she replaces Robert Huth, who resigned in March.
