Eyes for Chain

Luxottica Group (Milan, Italy), which operates the LensCrafters Inc. eyeglass retail division (Cincinnati), plans to open seven luxury sunglasses stores in the U.S. by the end of 2007 under the name Ilori, an African word that means “special treasure.”

The chain will offer high-fashion sunwear with price points starting at $200. Store locations will include New York and Los Angeles.

Luxottica operates about 1500 Sunglass Hut International stores, as well as owns several retail outlets, including Sears Optical, Target Optical and Cole Vision Care.
