Flying Tiger Copenhagen Owners Sell

Philip and Emma Bier, who opened the first Tiger shop in the U.K. in 2005, have sold their share of the housewares retailer to the brand’s Copenhagen-based parent company, Zebra.

The Guardian reports that Flying Tiger Copenhagen is the fastest growing retailer in the U.K. As a result of the sale, Philip and Emma will step down as managing director and head of design and marketing.

“We have opened 44 stores and have put a fantastic team in place that will remain once I leave,” Philip Bier said. “The brand still has enormous expansion potential here in the south-east. The time is right for Zebra to be 100 percent owners of Tiger Retail Limited and facilitate the further growth of the business both through store openings and optimising the current portfolio of shops.”
