M. Lavine Design Workshop (St. Cloud, Minn., designer and producer of store fixtures, displays and decoratives) has recently changed ownership. Jackie Bach, current ceo and sales/marketing director, and Paul Bach have purchased the 29-year-old company.

Store Openings:

Boscov's Department Stores LLC (Reading, Pa.) has opened a 180,000-square-foot store at the Piedmont Mall in Danville, Va. The two-level store, the chain's 41st unit, is on the former site of an Ames Department Store.


Business Briefs:

Ovation-In-Store (Maspeth, N.Y.) is the new name of The DSI Group. Founded in 1974 as Display Systems Inc., the company designs, develops and manufactures displays and fixtures for retail merchandising environments.


Awards:

Vista System Intl. (Sarasota, Fla., producer of sign systems using modular curved frame technology) announced that E.G. Maud and Sons (Pty) Ltd. of South Africa was awarded the 2005 Sansa Award in the p-o-s category for its designs utilizing The Vista System.
