Management Changes:


Leggett & Platt (Carthage, Mo., manufacturer of store fixtures and other commercial furnishings and equipment) has promoted David Taylor to president of its POP business unit and Neil Campbell to president of its Display Plan unit; hired Jim Dyment to spearhead the East Coast business expansion of its Beeline Group; and made the following appointments within its Foodservice Segment: Colleen Keenan, director of customer service for Amco, Freestyle, Hodges, LPI and ISS products; Dave Bufolino, president, operations; and Dan Wright, vp, operations.

MBH Architects (Alameda, Calif., architecture firm) has hired Terry Miller, senior project manager, the Gap and Old Navy accounts; Ajit Roy, project manager, the Urban Solutions Studio; and Don Dacumos, senior project manager, the Limited Studio.

Transformit (Gorham, Maine, manufacturer of tension-fabric structures) has promoted Mary Carey to vp, marketing and sales, and hired Marty McGowan and Joyce Read as account executives.

Armstrong World Industries (Lancaster, Pa., manufacturer of flooring, ceilings and cabinets) announced that Joanne Davis Brayman, vp, marketing for commercial ceiling systems, has been named to the InformeDesign Advisory Board. InformeDesign is an Internet-based searchable database of design and human behavior research.


Store Openings/Contracts:


Gallo Architects & Development Consultants (Deerfield Beach, Fla., architectural design and development firm) has been hired to design the Bonefish Mac's restaurant in the Gateway Centre development in Lighthouse Point, Fla.


Business Briefs:


Shop 'n Save Warehouse Foods Inc. (St. Louis grocery chain) is outfitting its stores with full-motion digital billboard advertising screens from IGS (Interactive Graphic Solutions, St. Louis provider of advertising and marketing services to retailers).

Material ConneXion (New York materials library for retailers and manufacturers) has chosen 128 technologically advanced materials for inclusion in its “ColleXion 2004” traveling exhibit.

Hunt Design (Pasadena, Calif., architecture firm) announced that founder Wayne Hunt will release a book entitled “Environmental Graphics: Projects and Processes” in spring 2004.


Awards:


II BY IV Design Associates Inc. (Toronto design firm) won a first place in the sports and entertainment venue category in the Interior Awards Competition presented by Contract magazine for its design of the Seven nightclub in Toronto. II BY IV also won a first place in the 2003 ISP/VM+SD International Store Design Competition for Seven.

Sea Gull Lighting Products (Riverside, N.J., lighting manufacturer) has been named Energy Star Partner of the Year by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy for its leadership in providing the marketplace with environmentally friendly, energy-efficient lighting products.

Milliken & Co. (Spartanburg, S.C., textiles and chemicals company) was ranked 16th in Fortune magazine's recent “100 Best Companies to Work For” list.
