Business Briefs:

Weiber Nelson Design (San Diego design firm) has changed its name to Harmon Nelson Design.

Merchandising Inventives Inc. (Waukegan, Ill., p-o-p manufacturer) has formed M.I. Plastics, a division specializing in custom plastic fabrication for p-o-p displays.

Mergers and Acquisitions:

zpd+a (ziolkowski porter damato + associates, Chicago architecture firm) has formed from the merger of dka ARCHITECTS, Vincent Ziolkowski Associates and Brock Porter Architects.

Management Changes:

W.A.C. Lighting (Garden City, N.Y., lighting manufacturer) promoted Richard Kurtz to vp of operations, where he oversees research and development, as well as engineering operations. Kurtz previously served as senior vp of operations at Lightolier.

George Little Management (White Plains, N.Y., producer and marketer of tradeshows) promoted Cathleen Doyle to media manager, where she oversees media-related activities for tradeshows and gift shows. Doyle joined GLM in 1997 as a media and events coordinator.
