Mergers/Acquisitions:

LSI Industries Inc. (Cincinnati lighting manufacturer) has acquired substantially all the assets of SACO Technologies Inc. (Montreal technology developer and producer of LED products).

Shive-Hattery (Cedar Rapids, Iowa, architecture and engineering firm) has acquired Arcline Associates Ltd. (Downers Grove, Ill., retail design firm).

Business Briefs:

Xerox Corp. (Stamford, Conn., document-management company) has completed a multimillion-dollar deal to place more than 1200 Xerox Phaser® 8400 copiers in stores operated by Staples Inc. (Framingham, Mass., office products company). Staples employees use the solid-ink printers to produce store signs, shelf tags and other point-of-sale materials.

CCS Architecture (San Francisco) has opened an office in New York.

 

Awards:

LATICRETE Intl. Inc. (Bethany, Conn., manufacturer of tile and stone installation systems) announced that chairman and ceo David Rothberg has been inducted in to the Junior Achievement of Southwest New England's Business Hall of Fame in New Haven, Conn.
