The International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD, Chicago professional trade association) has announced that through a partnership with VIA-Verlag publishers of Germany, Professional Lighting Design is now the official publication of IALD. Under the new title, PLD North America, the magazine will debut in April and will include international stories as well as editorial content geared toward the North American market. It will be published six times a year and will be free to all IALD voting members. Additionally, Professional Lighting Design will become an official co-sponsor of the IALD Annual Lighting Design Awards.

Awards & Competitions:

The Paradies Shops (Atlanta-based airport retail group) has been named the 2003 Georgia Family Business of the Year by the Cox Family Enterprise System of Kennesaw State University and Georgia Trend magazine. The award recognizes a business for its success, positive family/business linkage, multi-generational family business involvement, contributions to industry and community and innovative business practices.

Roland DGA (Irvine, Calif., printing equipment designer and manufacturer) was recognized at the 2003 Photo Marketing Association Trade Show with winning equipment in the DIMA Digital Printer Shoot-Out. Roland's Hi-Fi JET Pro II FJ-540 won in the 50- to 72-inch category and the SOLJET Pro II SJ-740 won in the over 72-inch category for best overall quality and color accuracy.
