Management Changes:

Nora Lighting (Commerce, Calif., lighting manufacturer) has hired T.J. Sterling as marketing consultant. Sterling, who was a consultant for Nora in 1999, is responsible for developing marketing strategies and creating sales support programs for sales representatives.

NBBJ Graphic Design (Seattle design firm) has added John Rubino to its staff. Rubino was previously managing director of Landor Associates in Seattle.

Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates Inc. (TVS, Chicago architectural design firm) has named Richard Rounds an associate. In addition, Rounds has relocated from the firm's Atlanta office to its Chicago studio. He joined TVS in 1995.

Hok Canada Inc. (Toronto planning and design firm) to 310 Front St., W., Ste. 400, Toronto, ON M5V 3B5. The company's phone and fax numbers remain the same.

Business Briefs:

idX Corp. (St. Louis, Mo., custom fixture and millwork manufacturer) recently expanded its Louisville, Ky., manufacturing plant by 50 percent and added a new automated finishing line. In addition, idX Toronto doubled its capacity by building a new, state-of-the-art 218,000-square-foot wood and metal plant and invested $2.5 million in new equipment. idX also announced that it consolidated its Minneapolis plant by moving operations and production capabilities to other idX facilities in Louisville, Miami, Seattle and Toronto.

Cooper Lighting (Peachtree City, Ga., lighting manufacturer) has been recognized by the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America Progress Report Committee. The 2002 Progress Report presents significant developments and improvements in the lighting industry over the past year. Nineteen of Cooper's products and applications were accepted, including its Lumière Monaco 2002 Outdoor Landscape Area and Fixture Accent and the Lumière Aspen Series Type 3 Bollards.

Dynamic Graphics Inc. (Peoria, Ill., global media company) has appointed a worldwide network of 40 agents to sell, distribute and support its Creatas brand royalty-free images. The company has also created a full-commerce web site (www.creatasonline.com) where customers can access more than 40,000 photos, illustrations and clips.

555 Intl. Inc. (Chicago design, development and manufacturing firm) has announced that its designer, James Geier, was named a “New Cultural Icon” in the Midwest design category by Lincoln automaker and Hearst Magazines, in an event honoring influential icons in the fields of design, art, film, music, fashion and cuisine. Geier was chosen by his peers as an emerging artist and his Automatic Inc. furniture line was featured in an event showcasing winners and their creations.

Awards:

The National Association of Printing Leadership (NAPL, Paramus, N.J., not-for-profit commercial printing trade association) presented its inaugural NAPL Education Leadership Award to Lyman Henderson, honorary chair of Davis & Henderson Ltd. (Ontario printing communications firm), where he is former president and chairman. The award recognized Henderson for his contribution to furthering education in the graphic communications industry.
