Former Best Buy Exec Joins Albertsons

Retired Best Buy exec Sharon McCollam has joined Albertsons Co. (Boise, Idaho) as its President and CFO, reporting to Albertsons CEO Vivek Sankaran, according to a press release.

“We are entering the next phase of our transformation, centered on building deeper relationships with customers through data, technology, and connected omnichannel solutions,” said Sankaran. “Sharon has done just this throughout her career, helping to engineer multiple retail transformations, including the spectacular turnaround of Best Buy and the digital transformation at Williams-Sonoma.”

McCollam retired from Best Buy, where she served as Executive VP, in 2016. She is credited as one of the architects behind the brand’s Renew Blue transformation. As president and CFO, she assumes responsibility for finance, corporate strategy, information technology, supply chain operations and property development.
