Francesca’s Q2 Comp Sales Fall

Francesca’s Holdings Corp. (Houston), recently identified as the fastest-growing specialty retailer in the U.S., has announced that same-store sales fell 1 percent in its second quarter.

A year ago, the retailer had announced a 21 percent same-store sales increase.

Its same-store sales calculations include online sales.

The retailer said it was hurt by the lack of a dominant apparel fashion trend in the quarter and lower levels of customer traffic. “While we anticipate challenges in the near-term given the difficult and choppy traffic trends, we will remain confident about the longer term prospects for our business,” said ceo Neill Davis.
