Gap Inc. (San Francisco) has announced plans to open three new Forth & Towne stores in the Los Angeles area this fall.
The stores, featuring the company's new apparel concept for women, are all in upscale shopping destinations: Westfield Century City Shopping Center and The Oaks Shopping Center in September, followed by Westfield Topanga Shopping Center in October.
The Oaks, in Thousand Oaks, Calif., just north of Los Angeles, serves such affluent communities as Calabasas, Malibu, Westlake Village and Agoura Hills. Westfield Topanga, also located in the San Fernando Valley, is in the midst of a large-scale redevelopment project, set to be completed in fall 2006. Westfield Century City is located in a thriving business and shopping district, and recently completed a redevelopment project bringing new retail, dining and entertainment options to the center.
“The Los Angeles area is a perfect market for Forth & Towne, as women here have a high affinity for style, fashion and trends,” said Forth & Towne president Gary Muto. “We chose these established, well-known centers because they are conveniently located in areas where our customers live, work and shop.”
Earlier this year, Forth & Towne announced plans to open approximately 10 stores in the fall in five new markets: Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco/San Jose and Seattle.
The concept, a destination for grown-up style, debuted in August 2005. There are currently five Forth & Towne locations: Palisades Center Mall, West Nyack, N.Y.; Algonquin Commons, Algonquin, Ill.; Westfield Fox Valley, Aurora, Ill.; Westfield Old Orchard, Skokie, Ill.; and Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg, Ill.
