Making the announcement in a company blog post, she says she will remain on the board as executive chair.
Chief Commercial Officer Kyle Leahy will take up the mantle as the lead executive of the beauty brand. Before joining Glossier in 2021, she held a senior analyst role at Nike and also worked with Cole Haan for nine years.
The CEO switch comes five months after Glossier laid off more than 80 employees, a third of the company’s payroll at the time. Weiss admitted that she “made some mistakes” and said “we also got ahead of ourselves on hiring.”
