Good Coffee

Kullman Industries (Lebanon, N.J.) has won a 2002 National Design-Build award for its work on a coffee drive-through building for Lavazza Coffee, the Italian company with U.S. headquarters in New York.

The award, for best design-build project under $5 million, was presented at a formal presentation dinner during the 2002 Design/Build International Association yearly conference.

John J. Lefkus III, Kullman executive vp and coo, accepted the award on behalf of the construction, design and contracting company's foodservice division, along with Ethan Holien, vp of client management for Millennium Venture Group (Denver), the company responsible for the concept design of the Lavazza drive-thru building.

The Lavazza project was the subject of a presentation, by Kullman vp Gail Blackman, at VM+SD's International Retail Design Conference last month in Pasadena, Calif.
