(PRESS RELEASE) LENEXA, KS — Henderson Engineers, a national building systems design firm, announces the promotion of company veteran Katie Molstad to retail sector design and construction director. In this new role, Molstad is focused on leading the integration of retail projects between Henderson Engineers and sister company Henderson Building Solutions, a national design-build construction management and commissioning firm.

Molstad previously held the role of luxury retail practice director for six years, steering the practice that specializes in brick-and-mortar stores for high-end retailers across North America including brands by industry heavyweights such as LVMH, Richemont, and Kering. She joined the company in 2008.

“Congratulations to Katie on this well-deserved promotion,” said Jason Zoeller, retail sector executive at Henderson Engineers. “The seamless collaboration between our designers at Henderson Engineers and the construction experts at Henderson Building Solutions is vital to the growth of our company as we take on broader and more complex scopes on projects. Katie brings a wealth of expertise and experience as a seasoned leader at our firm and her leadership will be pivotal in bridging the gap between these two worlds.”

In tandem with Molstad’s promotion, Henderson Engineers has named Ryan Haug as her successor for the luxury retail practice director role. A company veteran since 2013, Haug most recently served as a retail sector practice manager overseeing project execution and employee relations and performance. He helped lead the establishment of the company’s Los Angeles office in 2014 and has held the position of LA regional leader since 2021, a position that remains unchanged.

“Relationships are at the core of successful projects, and Ryan’s track record of teamwork, innovative thinking, and peer-to-peer accountability will help us continue to deliver at the high level that our luxury retail clients and partners know and expect from us,” said Zoeller. “Ryan is working closely with Katie and the rest of our leadership team to ensure a seamless transition and we have no doubt he will take the luxury retail practice to new heights.”

Molstad holds an architectural engineering degree from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan. Haug is an alum of Wichita State University in Wichita, Kan., where earned a degree in mechanical engineering. Both are licensed professional engineers.
