Home Depot Calls Upon Walmart’s GoLocal Service

Home Depot (Atlanta) has announced it has hired Walmart’s (Bentonville, Ark.) GoLocal to deliver online purchases from Home Depot to customers, according to CNBC.

Home Depot is the first retailer to sign up for GoLocal, Walmart’s new delivery enterprise. This new business was launched in August with the goal of serving customers from small, local stores to big name retailers. Home Depot deliveries through Walmart will start in select areas in New Mexico, Texas and Arkansas. The two retailers hope to service all of the country by the end of the year.

Items eligible for same-day or next-day delivery under this service will only include smaller items that can easily fit into a standard vehicle. This partnership aligns with Home Depot’s plan to revamp its supply chain and distribution. Earlier this year, $1.2 million was invested into this.
