Hooray for Hollywood

Sir Richard Branson, chairman of Virgin Entertainment Ltd. (London), will be on hand when Virgin Entertainment Group (Los Angeles) opens its new flagship West Coast Virgin Megastore at the Hollywood & Highland Complex in downtown Hollywood, Calif.

The ribbon-cutting, to occur on Oct. 17, 2005, will also include a rooftop show featuring performers INXS, Gang of Four and Dredg.

The 20,000-square-foot megastore will occupy prime real estate between the Kodak Theatre and Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. “The opening of this new Megastore puts us, literally, at the epicenter of entertainment,” said Virgin Entertainment ceo Simon Wright.
