Hot Topic Acquired for $600 Million

Hot Topic (Industry, Calif.) has agreed to an offer of $600 million from Sycamore Partners (New York), the private equity firm that owns Talbots, the New York Times reports. Hot Topic, which operates over 800 stores in the U.S., is an apparel and accessories store mainly targeted at teens and young adults interested in subculture trends.
