Hugo Boss to Open Four Floors on Fifth Avenue

It might just be the largest designer store in New York: In a bold move, Hugo Boss, the German clothier and sportswear company, will open a 23,000-square-foot, four-story flagship on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue.

The largest of Hugo Boss'almost 300 global retail stores, the new one will carry its new women's line and devote 35 percent of its offering to female clientele.

Boss'future home, a recessed retail space on the southeast corner of Fifth Avenue and 56th Street, is being extended to the property line. Helmut Pummer, the head architect for Boss'global retail network, will design the interior. Plans include spacious, 40-foot ceilings.

Hugo Boss U.S.A. expects annual sales to hit $20 million at the new flagship.
