Want to show off your design chops at next year’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF)? The show is sponsoring two competitions that offer a chance to do just that.
The ICFF Studio Winners competition invites submissions from designers working in any of the product categories exhibited at ICFF: furniture, seating, carpet and flooring, lighting, outdoor furniture, materials, wall coverings, accessories, textiles, and kitchen and bath.
Winners will receive a spot to display their prototypes within the ICFF Studio, a separate group area with individual booths located on the exhibition floor. This competition is sponsored by George Little Management (White Plains, New York), which produces and manages the ICFF, and Bernhardt Design (Lenoir, N.C.).
Design schools can also win a spot on ICFF’s floor by entering the student competition. Entrants must submit a description of a singular concept for a set of original products and prototypes. Six schools will be chosen as winners and each will receive a 200-square-foot booth space, including a white hard-wall modular unit and birch floor. (Arrangements, costs of labor, lighting and shipping are the school's responsibility.)
Deadline for submitting entries in both competitions is December 15, and winners will be announced on Jan. 15, 2007. For more details and entry forms, go to the “exhibits” channel at www.icff.com.
ICFF 2007 will take place May 19-22 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.
